She had a some kind of eye infection recently, i brought her to a vet pero di gumaling ung mata nya. now, pati ung isa pa nyang mata nadamay n dn. the first symptoms, nagshut ung eye nya tpos nagmumuta ng yellow green, tpos ngkaron ng white covering ung mata nya. prang me cataract na khit naglalagay kmi ng antibacterial eye drops na prescribed ng vet. Help, i think my dog has gone blind now. Ayoko syang mabulag so if anyone here who could help me sana matulungan nyo ko. Salamat po.

Anong binigay na gamot ng vet sayo, can you tell me the specific name? Eye problems are supposed to be taken care of right away para wag maging malala. Did you get any anti-biotic along with the eye drops? How old is your dog? Not unless your dog has hereditary issues, you should not be concern about the cataract. Hope your dog is better.

February 25th, 2010 at 12:55 amany advice , i need a good vet near malabon or caloocan area since our old vet for my shi tzu, since lately this clinic is having wrong findings for my dog like, her heat period lapsed but when i went to a different vet they said its not, i almost missed its second heat because of that plus just today i send my dog for check up to see how is her pregnancy and she just looked at the dog and referred me back to a different vet for ultra sound since they don’t have equipment and even charged us for just looking at the dog.It’s quite so much business like for this clinic so I decided to find a new one..will anybody suggests and help me since my shi tzu is now 5 weeks pregnant..very disappointing for just by loking and did nt even touched my dog and they charged 200..thanks

meron po ba kaung alam na online forum of vets na nagbibigay ng free advise regarding pet problems? i have a shih tzu kasi, 3 years old na pero once pa lang namin na-notice na nag-heat. whereas yung isa naming cross breed na maltese-shih tzu, every six months, naghi-heat. i need to know if there’s anything wrong with my shih tzu and if it can be cured. i went to two vets na, one said it’s normal, possibly inherited lang daw. the other said it’s not normal and gave something to my dog. but it didn’t help. i’m willing to go to a third vet, pero i want to know the credibility muna… kasi, the first two na napuntahan ko, conflicting, and parang i don’t trust them na..

It does happen that your dog could be having “silent heat”. We experience that with our dogs and it helps kung meron ka adult male dog… yung sense of smell nila plus of course instincts will tell them if a dog is ready to mate.
Also, try to have your female shitzu stay with a bitch in heat. Sometimes a female in heat “infects” other females. This is based only my experience with our dogs. There is a cycle but it somehow happens that when one of our dogs gets into heat… yung iba sumusunod..
As for vets.. I’ve grown to trust my fellow dog breeders na more than the vet. Believe me, they have lots of stories to tell as well with their sad experiences with vets..

Binisita namin yung aso ng madaling araw (after my work) and nakita namin na basang basa, walang ilaw, walang water. we asked the doctor kung anu ng lagay ng aso ang told us na baka di na daw abutin ng umaga. we decided na iuwi nalang ang aso ang we gave her oxygen. dinala namin sya sa hospital and we found out na dapat daw pla binigyan ng antibiotics at some injections yung dog.. san ba kame pwede magsumbong? i really feel bad kasi vet malpractice yung ginawa ng unang doctor. need help.. thanks.

Same negligence happened to us. Two of dogs died by 2 different vets.
Yung una, healthy yung chi namin brought in for for whelping… as expected CS was recommended. It was messy. I can accept the loss of our pups but the bitch died too.
Our second dog we have to pull out not wanting it to die in that incompetent vet’s clinic. It seems the vet is prolonging the stay (boarding is P800 per day!). Nag blood test na and pilit na heartworm daw. The symptoms does not fit the speed of deterioration of our dog. I went to check google on the symptoms and it points to leptospirosis.. The dog could have been saved pero too late na. After 3 days in the clinic, our handsome dog was a swelling yellow mass. We took our dog home… got a second opinion and with how deterioration came so fast… our initial suspicion was concurred to be most possible. But it was too late to save our dog. There was no sense of urgency at all and the vet stuck to her diagnosis. But the bill was ready…

Maybe it may be better for your dog to complete one vaccination and then proceed to the next. Like people, yung bakuna may cause fever as a reaction to the weakened germs injected that is meant to develop resistance. Mabuti na makapahinga yung aso after one vaccination and sort of be stronger to handle the next.
Rabies shots can be given as early as 4 months. Pero naman kung and dog mo is not exposed to other dogs…pag sa bahay mo lang.. chances of picking up rabies is small and therefore the vaccination can be deferred after yung parvo shots.
As for deworming and anti-rabies together.. hindi naman bakuna yung deworming… so baka pwede pag sabayin..

Its so hard to find a good vet genuinely concerned about your pet’s health more than how much they can earn with each consultation. I don’t mind being billed for a good service pero naman its so digusting feeling that you are being milked while your beloved pet suffers.
Is there a place where we can report our sad experience with incompetent and irresponsible vets?

Sabi nya sakin noon aasikasuhin nya yong papers ng asong binili ko after manganak ulet ng parents ng puppy na binili ko isasabay nalang daw nya eh kaso nakakadalawang panganak na ng aso ko wala padin. Naloko ako nung Vet. Nakakafrustrate kasi kahit gusto ibenta sa maayos na halaga yong mga puppies nya hindi ko magawa kasi ala nga papers ng dog ko. Sana matulngan nyo ko. SJVets Animal Clinic at Kamias QC is well equipped with dental stuff for scaling. We use gas anesthesia (safer compared to chemical) and ultrasonic scaler so cleaning is thorough. Our six months old Shih Tzu had an internal bleeding (blood coming out from mouth and anus). We thought there was no hope for her. We rushed her to Carlos Veterinary Clinic (just across Uniwide Sucat) and she was under the competent care of Dr. Francis Katalbas. Ichi was confined for 4 days and recovered well. Dr. Katalbas is great and regularly updated us regarding Ichi’s condition.

if nagmumuta cguro kelangan yang e deworm but u should go to a vet kasi bibigyan ka nila ng meds according to their weight and age e. about sa vet, yes kahit sinong licensed vet pwede ka magpunta at if kelangan specialized vet e sila na mag recommend non sayo. get well sa dog mo
