Dogs on Condos

Since my husband got a job I am contemplating on getting or renting a unit on a nearby building near his workplace, but do condos allow dogs? just my small breeds? please. My husband works at night and he travels 2 hours just to go home and to his work place which is very exhausting if all you want after work is to sleep.
I wish condos here allowed dogs like most of the gulf shores condos abroad i read.
