Canine Hip Dysplasia

Canine hip dysplasia or CHD is basically a skeletal problem that is usually acquired on Labradors, German Shepherd and Golden Retrievers etc. This is an abnormal development of their hip joint where the femur’s head does not fit snugly into the pelvic socket. It was characterized by a shallow acetabulum or the cup of their hip joint and it changes its shape of the femoral head which is the ball of the hip joint.
The changes occurs due to excessive looseness in the hip joint and hip dysplasia can be present even if there are no clinical signs. Clinical signs of hip dysplasia are the dogs are in pain and lame on one or both rear legs. This severe arthritis are develop as a result of the malformation of the hip joint and this results in pain as the disease progresses. You should not wait for these signs before getting a treatment, it can be avoided or atleast minimize the chances on getting this by asking your vet about a joint supplement that can be given to your dog.
